Walter Reed Middle School

John McCain may want to fire his event planners. After the widely panned appearance in Louisiana where McCain was speaking against a lime green backdrop, you would’ve thought the McCain team would learn their lesson. Viewers watching the speech last night, especially when the camera was focused on McCain, would not be wrong in thinking that he was speaking in front of a green screen. When the camera pans out, you see that the green is actually a lawn and there’s an ornate building in the background. Is it one of McCain’s houses? (Sorry, I couldn’t resist the cheap shot.) Well, TPM readers have pointed out that it is in fact the Walter Reed Middle School in CA. Does this school have any connection with McCain? We don’t know yet but speculation is rife that the campaign requested Walter Reed, THE hospital, and got Walter Reed Middle School instead.
