John McCain’s decision to suspend his campaign in light of the financial crisis is pure bull sh*t. As Ben Smith reports, the urgency of the financial situation did not prevent McCain from meeting with Lady Lynn de Rothschild this morning.
And who is this Lady Lynn de Rothschild? She is a Clinton supporter who has recently endorsed John McCain because Obama “is elitist.” (Pot calling the kettle black? No pun intended.)
Yes, I get that this meeting was before McCain decided to suspend the campaign and that the campaign was officially on at that point.
But the question remains -- why in a moment of crisis would you want to meet with Lady Rothschild? Why not your economic advisors?
Maybe the magnitude of the crisis dawned on McCain between the meeting this morning and his decision to suspend the campaign this afternoon.
Oh, and McCain hasn’t cast a single vote in the Senate since April.

Well, to be fair, neither has Obama.
Either way, great post!
I'm still confused as to why over 40% of the country still believes this man (McCain) is heroic. Must we forget that this is a man who ended in the BOTTOM 5 of his graduating class? That he is NOT remembered for his heroic battles but for the mere fact that he refused to go home early from a prison camp (no disrespect to a brave act, but let's not kid ourselves here!!)
...and how dare his slogan be "Country First" insinuating that Obama someone doesn't put his country first!! I don't consider any candidate, who would offer us Palin as an alternative should he croack, someone who puts his country first.
*sorry, Friday morning rant*

I agree with you. There's something about the insinuation that only one candidate or party puts the country first that is insulting. No party or candidate owns patriotism and there isn't just one way to be patriotic.
